Pet Resort Manager
I've been with VCA Durant Road since the Spring of 2019 and I have a long history of animal care, foster, and rescue volunteer work. I've cared for hamsters, gerbils, lizards, birds, dogs and cats.
I have been our Pet Resort Manager since July of 2021. You won't find me at the desk because I am typically hands on with your fur babies in the back. I was an emergency dispatcher in my home town, tuxedo rental manager for 10 years and also a veterinary assistant for 2 years at another animal hospital. I found my passion in caring for animals. I take a lot of pride in my critter nail trims, reading dog behavior and knowing all of our regular daycare and boarding pups. I've absolutely loved watching so many of our puppy clients grow up in our daycare over these few years. The GSD in my picture is one of our former regulars before his family moved away.
I currently share a home with two rescue bunnies, Ms. Thackery Binx and Hickory and a 16 year old mixed breed pup named Boo.
Pet Resort Team Lead
I have been with VCA Durant Road since September 2019. I've been around animals my whole life and have owned/grew up with anything from dogs, cats, chickens, a snake, a turtle, hermit crabs, a mouse, various fish, and rabbits, and I would love to own other species in the future. Animals are my passion and I decided to go to school to learn even more about them. I obtained my B.S. in Animal Science from my dream school NC State University. I worked with many animals during my time there, especially dairy cows. Currently figuring out how I can use my education and passion to find the right career path, but in the meantime I'm enjoying surrounding myself with dogs and cats on a daily basis whether at work, through petsitting, or my own pets along with friends' and family's.
My current pets include Rezzy, a domestic shorthair found as a stray kitten and Muscadine, a California kingsnake.
A fun fact about me is that I was born in Guatemala City and was adopted which lead me to grow up in a small eastern NC town with a population of 200!
